Jason and the expedition of the Golden Fleece

This is a story about three kings and a great hero, Jason, whose fate was woven with theirs, and led him to great exploits and wonderful adventures. Our reading journey will take us back in time to meet Jason, one of the greatest, if flawed, heroes of Greek mythology. We shall go on board Jason’s ship, the Argo, and follow him in his extraordinary adventures, from the seaside city of Iolkos in Central Greece to the distant Colchis on the shore of the Black Sea, in search of the Golden Fleece. We shall rejoice – briefly – when beautiful Medea, the bewitching sorceress and princess of Colchis, falls in love with him and helps him do what nobody had dared before: to steal the Golden Fleece from the terrible dragon who was guarding it. We shall finally stay with Jason through the terrible blows fate deals him, after his return home and all the way to the shocking ending of this tale.
